The film Second Nature, follows a group of people who experiment and dream of a collective life inspired by hunters and gatherers. The methods become a kind of reminder that man was once part of an ecosystem and present an experience about what it may have looked like, a kind of artificial respiration or reconstructed relationship to nature. Increased interest in nature may be seen in relation to climate anxiety, but this group takes a step further in their ambition in trying to return to the natural world. This takes place in various experimental forms and under the overview of knowledgeable and experienced teachers. Exhilarating, but many times also quite difficult. As a whole, the film is intended as a form of humorous contemporary documentation about the often contradictory in human behaviour in modern times, but also from the perspective of animals and the forest, are we welcome back?
